These contained plumbing and <a title=\"Ventilation Duct Manifold 1 to 3 Home Made\" href=\"https:\/\/idostuff.co.uk\/blogs\/2013\/ventilation-duct-manifold-1-to-3-home-made\/\">ventilation ducts <\/a>so the space was unusable. \u00a0There is one wall in the attic that did have some useful space available.<\/p>\n<p>The cottage now has a fully insulated roof so just putting a door in to the space behind the wall wouldn&#8217;t be a good idea. \u00a0For a start it would be a gap in the insulation and it would be a magnet for condensation build up. \u00a0The cupboard space had to be fully insulated and vapour proof.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1174\" style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/downloads\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/attic-cupbord-insulation.jpg');\"  href=\"https:\/\/idostuff.co.uk\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/attic-cupbord-insulation.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1174\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1174\" alt=\"Attic cupboard Insulation \" src=\"https:\/\/idostuff.co.uk\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/attic-cupbord-insulation.jpg\" width=\"540\" height=\"359\" srcset=\"https:\/\/idostuff.co.uk\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/attic-cupbord-insulation.jpg 540w, https:\/\/idostuff.co.uk\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/attic-cupbord-insulation-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1174\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Insulation and vapour barrier to attic eaves cupboard<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It took lots of fiddly work with the kingspan \/ celotex \/ balytherm to ensure \u00a0neither the insulation or vapour barrier where breached. \u00a0Behind the green polythene barrier is rock wool type insulation. \u00a0All the joints are either taped or sealed with silicone.
